What time were you out there? I did Parmer Sunday morning from 7 to 10am (62.5 miles) did you see a guy out in a black FatCyclist.com jersey, that would be me? I like to take CR 258 (I think that's the #), it's a left at the top of the big hill right before HWY 29. It crosses 29 over by Liberty Hill and comes back out on Parmer, I cross Parmer and head towards Camp Tejas and it comes out on Lake Road.
I was stupid and went out at 1pm to 4pm. I thought that I was doing great and feeling strong but then it dawned on me that the wind was probably at my back. When I turned around on Parmer it hit me like leaf blower. I thought about calling my wife but the machismo in me insisted on being a man and suffering through it - SUFFER I did.
I would love to ride your route sometime. I was hoping to do 60+ yesterday but had to cut it short. Do you have your map online?
Not sure if you saw my tweet to you with the route. I can't seem to paste the URL into the comment box. I figured out a way to fool it though. Here's my Parmer route: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://www.trainingpeaks.com/sw/kml/4GGFNODHSMVJJ2AN2EPT4YVLWA
I did see the tweet and I was looking at the map yesterday. It looks great. Do you have it on MapMyRide or anywhere else that lists turn by turn directions? It looks a little confusing up there near Andice where you have a couple of loops. I have to head out to San Antonio Saturday but am interested in trying this. Hey, aren't you involved in regular team or group rides?
I want to be a lean, green, cycling machine. Want to ride?
I am also a photographer, father and a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course. I am so focused on learning skills that improve and sustain a positive attitude and I drive it home when I share what I have learned with others.
